When is the last time you took a risk? How did it work out?

When God saves you it is a most magnificent, one-of-a-kind gift. It can not be returned, lost or exchanged!

Think about that.

While this gift is literally life saving, this gift comes with a mighty risk. The God glorifying risk of ‘losing one’s self.’ On the surface this can seem shocking, especially in today’s society that boasts of self-love everywhere you go. But God says otherwise!

“Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it” ~Matthew 10:39

“And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” ~Luke 9:23-24

Losing one’s self is a gift. In fact, when God saves us He gives us a NEW mind!

“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.” ~Ezekiel 36:26-27

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” ~Romans 12:2

And so, we can see this risk is really a mighty gift from God!
