How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?

The passage of time can seem very slow at times…perhaps during a seemingly monotonous activity you dislike, or while waiting longer than you prefer for a much anticipated event.
In contrast, however, as I age, time…goes…fast.
How can this be?
As I grow older, time goes…quickly. I watch my children age before my eyes…aware that I can take it for granted. Especially, as I sift through old photos. I try to gaze longer as they laugh and enjoy certain activities or milestones to see if I can take it all in more deeply.
My youngest is outgrowing the “little” stage. I grieve this, yet at the same time, I know that God graciously commands me to be content. I know that it is a gift to be able to watch my children grow and mature!
As time goes by, it is so important to try to shift your perspective, by changing ‘the lens’ you look through.
While obviously a metaphor, think about it! Sometimes, we just need to switch to an alternate ‘filter.’ Perhaps, from sadness to contentment, from being aloof to aware, ungrateful to grateful…
As they say, “time flies” & “these are the days.” I challenge you (and myself) though to see that every day is special, no matter the stage of life you are currently in.
EnJOY your life!
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”
~Colossians 3:17
