What sacrifices have you made in life?
The sacrifice that comes to mind is the sacrifice of ‘self’ and of ‘pride.’
The battle is a battle that every Christian must fight because the world hands you the opposite on a silver platter! The world hands you the love of self and the love of pride!
It is sold to us everywhere! In stores, on social media, in advertisements, in the news and more. It is boasted of and lusted after.
We must be on guard!
Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life
~Proverbs 4:23
We need to ‘sacrifice’ and fight these selfish, prideful sins and temptations. By no means do I believe ‘I have arrived’ at perfecting this – I certainly have not! In fact, I need to fight it daily and I have a lot of work to do in this area of my own life.
But part of facing the battle is facing the awareness that these things need to be avoided. If we are not aware, how can we fight?
May you be encouraged to do this in your own lives! We do need to take care of ourselves…however, remember, there is a huge difference between caring for yourself and boasting in self-love and pride!💜
