So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
~Romans 10:17
One tradition we carry out as a family on a daily basis is “Bible Time.” This tradition is rooted in the undeniable truth of God’s Word found in the holy Bible. While some flock to dispute the truth of God’s Word, we can rest peacefully in it because of faith – knowing that God is unchangeable, sovereign, powerful, good, righteous, perfect and He is holy.
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
~Hebrews 4:12
Coming together as a family to enjoy this daily time together is a treasure – it does not need to be overly formal or fancy, although you can make it that way if you want to!
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal.
~Matthew 6:19
I treasure memories of spending quality, cozy time with my children! When I do ‘Bible Time’ with my children, I especially enjoy doing it in a more ‘casual’ way, or perhaps better said, in a ‘cozy’ way. Sitting together in our family room, relaxed, with a blanket, my dogs and with dim lighting is ideal for me (I’m not a fan of bright lighting, especially florescent lights!)
Although the setting can add to the memories made, it is not what’s most important – but, rather, what’s being said and heard. Our bible times are not perfect at all, but no matter what, reading His perfect Word will not return void!
Take great comfort in that!💜
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void
~Isaiah 55:11
