Faith, Success & Failure

How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

My past ‘failures’ have indirectly given way to my success….but only by the grace of God. My biggest ‘success’ is salvation.

I can’t take any credit for this. By the world’s standards, they may argue that if I can’t take the credit then how is it even considered a success?

I disagree however, and see any success in my life, including the ultimate success of salvation, as a result of God’s undeserved mercies and all His doing!

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

~Ephesians 1:4-6

I look back on some of my failures, for example, past friendship ‘failures’ – I see God’s mercy in that He took me away for my own good and for a purpose!

Another example, is my ‘failure’ at continuing on in a particular ‘career’…could I have done more to maintain it? Perhaps, but God delivered me out of it – for a specific purpose, for His own glory!

He had other plans. Looking back, as a result, I never would have moved closer to my loved ones, met my husband, married, had children, etc!

Sometimes our ‘successes’ are obvious right away, and some, not so obvious until years afterwards.

Have faith in the ‘valleys’ of life, and in the ‘storms’ of life. God is sovereign and in control! Thank Him for your ‘successes’ and your ‘failures.’
