Anxiety Relief, Part II

The world will tell you to take medication for your anxiety…and there is nothing wrong with needing medicine to help you – but if you ONLY focus on medicine and ignore the spiritual, you are doing a disservice to your soul.

The Word of God is a balm to our souls; God made us and knows us! He knows our temptations, our weaknesses and our sins.

“My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” ~Psalm 73:26

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” ~2 Corinthians 12:9

“…and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” ~2 Corinthians 10:5

We need to hear the gospel everyday; not just on Sundays. Not only does it help relieve our anxiety but most importantly it glorifies God. The gospel is in fact, good news!

From the Westminster Shorter Catechism:

Question 1: What is the chief end of man? Answer: Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him for ever.
