Delicious Homemade Salsa Recipe!!

My husband is famous for his homemade salsa making skills from scratch and it tastes…wonderful.

Ingredients:

~3-4 Large Tomatoes 🍅

~1-1 1/2 Large Onions 🧅 (I cut mine into chunks so it will blend nicely)

~1 Large Bunch of Cilantro 🌱 (in my opinion the more the better; add 1/12-2 large bunches if you are a Cilantro lover)

~1 Small Jalapeño (seeds removed) (optional)

~Cumin, to taste (an earthy spice that adds a lot of flavor; I eyeball it honestly

~Fresh Garlic 🧄 (start out with 3 cloves and you can always add more if needed; powdered garlic will do if you don’t have fresh)

~Salt, to taste

Add water to a pot and boil your tomatoes and jalapeño until the tomato skins can easily be removed. Remove tomatoes from the water and use a fork to remove the skins. ‘Family secret’ is to not touch the tomatoes with your hands; something about the oils in your hands.

Put skinless tomatoes and the jalapeño into blender, along with your onion chopped into large chunks (for easy blending), garlic, salt, cumin & cilantro.

Pulse your blender a few times and then blend until incorporated very well. Do a taste test with a tortilla chip or two or three. Add more salt, cumin, garlic & onion if you’d like.

Store your salsa in the fridge, in an air tight container. It’s delicious with warmed tortilla chips,
